Welcome to Northbourne Public School. It is an honour and a privilege to be the foundation Principal of Northbourne Public School with the opportunity of building the school culture and creating the shared vision where students are at the centre of all of our decision making. We are establishing a school environment that is inclusive, welcoming and equitable, where we celebrate diversity and ensure a culturally and socially inclusive school working in partnership with all members of the school community.
As the Principal, I am driven by a deep personal commitment to seeing every student’s needs identified and met and that all students are engaged and learning successfully. Creating a positive school culture that supports students to thrive and ensuring they are known, valued and cared for and have a sense of belonging, knowing their voice is being heard and acted upon.
Our learning culture is focused on making a difference for student outcomes, developing essential competencies for success whilst developing a love of learning. Children will be active participants in their learning and their opinions valued. We are committed to preparing and inspiring students to be leaders of their own learning providing opportunities for collaboration and the use of thinking skills to solve complex problems ensuring their capacity to become mindful global citizens.
The delivery of curriculum will use contemporary learning practices, along with a range of technologies, to prepare students across all curriculum areas and learning stages with the skills and capabilities to thrive in a rapidly changing world, connecting students and engaging their sense of curiosity. The teachers know and understand the needs and talents of their students. They are flexible and select from a range of effective teaching strategies to ensure students achieve their educational outcomes.
