Strong Minds is a whole school approach to character development and emotional and mental wellbeing. Every person has a combination of 24 character strengths and if developed they can have a significant positive impact on their lives. Research has shown that using your character strengths can help to protect against, manage and overcome problems, improve relationships and enhance health and wellbeing. Character Strengths are the positive parts of your personality that impact how you think, feel and behave, and are the keys to being your best self. Character strengths form a central part of Northbourne's Positive Education model because using these capacities helps us to nurture our relationships, overcome challenges and flourish.
We acknowledge the Darug people who are the Traditional Custodians of this Land and pay our respects to the Elders past, present and future, for they will hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We would like to extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people present. We must always remember that under the concrete and asphalt this land is, was and always will be traditional Aboriginal land.
